The 2021 Ford F-150 has six powertrain options available for it, all of which work in conjunction with a ten-speed automatic transmission system with rear-wheel and four-wheel drive both being offered as options. The standard powertrain is a 3.3-liter V6 engine, which outputs 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque.

The standard engine is followed up by a turbocharged, 2.7-liter V6 engine that generates 325 hp and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. A 5.0-liter V8 is next on the list, making 400 hp and 410 lb.-ft. of torque. The remaining engine options include a turbocharged, 3.0-liter, diesel V6 (250 hp, 440 lb.-ft.), a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 (400 hp, 500 lb.-ft.) and a hybrid powertrain system that produces 430 hp and 570 lb.-ft.
